About the position
We are looking for you who have a holistic perspective on the healthcare system – from primary care to highly specialized care. You navigate confidently at the intersection of politics, contracts, and reimbursement models, and are motivated by optimizing the relationship between purchasers and providers. As a strategic and analytical force, you drive long-term processes and solve operational challenges on the spot. At Karolinska University Hospital, you will have a central role where your expertise contributes to the development of care.
As part of the unit Planning and Analysis within the Production and Follow-up area, you will have an overarching mandate resting on two interconnected parts:
- Purchaser relations and contract coordination: You will become Karolinska's central contact point towards the Health and Medical Care Administration in Region Stockholm, as well as the internal support for healthcare operations regarding volumes and reimbursement. You coordinate and develop the hospital's purchaser dialogue so that Karolinska acts as a unified and structured entity.
- Hospital-wide projects: With a focus on increased patient benefit and administrative simplification, you drive and support initiatives across the entire hospital. You work closely with healthcare operations and support units to translate improvement opportunities into concrete actions.
Your main responsibilities:
- Coordinate and develop processes for purchaser dialogue, assignment follow-up, and joint preparation.
- Handle ongoing questions regarding assignments, volumes, and reimbursement internally and externally.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data as a basis for strategic decisions.
- Prepare decision support materials and reports for the hospital's management.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance unit, production planning, and operational management.
We are looking for someone who is
- Analytical and action-oriented: You have the ability to see strategic dimensions in complex issues and can translate them into practical implementation.
- Communicative and confident: You express yourself clearly and pedagogically in speech and writing, and are confident in contact with civil servants and political representatives within Region Stockholm.
- Structured: You are accustomed to proactively driving several parallel work streams towards different stakeholders.
- Relationship-building: You easily establish trusting collaborations in complex, politically governed organizations.
- Unpretentious: You are receptive, solution-oriented, and thrive equally well in independent work as in team collaboration.
We place great emphasis on your personal suitability and welcome applicants at various stages of their careers.

- Experience in independently analyzing data as well as preparing and presenting decision support materials for management groups.
- Good understanding of how political governance affects the conditions for a university hospital.
