The Role

As a physiotherapist with us, you create important prerequisites for our patients to live as independent, participatory, and meaningful lives as possible. The role offers variation and flexibility in terms of both environment and tasks, and you are responsible for planning and structuring your working days. You are primarily responsible, together with an occupational therapist, for a geographical area in the municipality. Within the municipality, you may encounter patients in ordinary housing, in care and nursing homes, within LSS/disability support, or in short-term care operations.

As a physiotherapist with us, you will:

• Work both independently and in close collaboration with occupational therapists, rehabilitation assistants, nurses, and care staff.
• Collaborate internally and externally with other healthcare providers and actors around the patient, e.g., assistance coordinators, healthcare providers at health centers or hospitals.
• Conduct assessments regarding function, mobility, activity capacity, and fall risk.
• Implement physiotherapeutic and individually adapted rehabilitation measures according to the rehabilitation process.
• Assess needs, trial out, and prescribe assistive devices according to the prescription process.
• Be involved in development and quality work within the operations.
• Supervise, guide, and provide support to patients, relatives, and employees based on your professional role.

About Us

We in the Rehabilitation Group are part of the municipality's healthcare unit together with nurses, where the Rehabilitation Group and the Nurse Group each have their own unit manager. The Rehabilitation Group consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation assistants. We operate from shared premises at Lövsta care and nursing home centrally in Heby. Here you will find a pleasant courtyard, a training room, office spaces, and a practical assistive device warehouse.

With a common starting point, close collaboration, daily planning, and collegial support in everyday life are promoted. With short decision-making paths and easy accessibility between our different operations, this gives us good prerequisites for collaboration within the care and administration department. Together we see opportunities, like to try new things, and have an unpretentious approach. We are happy to receive thoughts and ideas on how we can develop together to become even better.

We meet patients in ordinary housing, care and nursing homes, LSS/disability support, and short-term care. We have rehabilitation responsibility for persons from 17 years of age and are responsible for prescribing assistive devices to patients from 21 years of age, where the majority of those we meet are elderly.

Heby is within commuting distance to nearby cities such as Västerås, Enköping, Sala, and Uppsala. We have several employees in our operations who commute by train or bus. From Lövsta, it is approx. 300 meters walking distance to the station.
