Welcome to stimulating work on a ward with an oncological and palliative focus!

Your Workplace

The Oncology Clinic has a county-wide responsibility for general oncological cancer care in Värmland. The clinic consists of Ward 7, outpatient clinics, radiotherapy, and a palliative care team. The ward has 16 inpatient beds and some day-care spots.

We work together as nursing assistants, registered nurses, and doctors. Here, we care for patients with various cancer diagnoses, providing curative treatments as well as end-of-life care. A significant part of our care focuses on symptom relief to achieve the best possible quality of life through a person-centered approach.

On Ward 7, we provide high-quality care where every team member contributes their expertise. We value and prioritize giving patients the best possible care. We collaborate as a team to provide excellent nursing care and symptom relief. We have a holistic view that permeates our care; we see both the patient and their relatives as important. You will have the opportunity to grow professionally and personally through challenges and new experiences.

Internal training is available for administering cytostatics, as well as continuous education/lectures on current nursing care and medical conditions.

Your Responsibilities

As a registered nurse, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on the care of our patients. You will work closely together with nursing assistants, doctors, and other colleagues in the team.

The work is varied and includes both medical-technical tasks and complex nursing care. Administering medication, providing treatments, and documenting in the care system are part of your daily routine. You actively contribute to care planning and follow up on nursing interventions. Support for patients and their relatives is an important part of the role, as is planning for continued care.

The position involves working according to a mixed schedule with day, evening, and night shifts. To ensure you have a secure start, we offer an individually tailored introduction.

Your Skills and Competencies

We are looking for you who are a licensed registered nurse. Experience from oncology and/or palliative care, as well as experience from a ward setting, is advantageous. Specialist education in oncology-palliative care is also advantageous.

You are confident in your professional role and can maintain calm even when the pace is fast. You handle changes with an open mind and see opportunities where others see obstacles. You take responsibility, plan your work, and drive it forward with both independence and initiative. Collaboration is second nature to you, and you communicate clearly and listen attentively. You have the ability to put yourself in others' perspectives and treat both patients and colleagues with respect and care.

We warmly welcome your application!
