Your Role

As a Senior Java Developer, you will work on the further development and maintenance of a Java-based HMI with a focus on Java Swing. The first version is already in place, and now the next phase awaits, involving continued development, new integrations, and handling bug reports. Here you step in with your experience and become a key player in ensuring quality, stability, and continued development over time.

You have overall responsibility for the software, from design decisions and architecture to implementation and improvement of the user interface. With a clear UX focus, you contribute to building an interface that is intuitive, efficient, and adapted to the user's needs.

The work takes place in an established Scrum team where you plan in sprints, collaborate closely, and regularly present your work in demos. You are expected to take a senior role in the team, provide technical guidance, support colleagues, and be a driving force in both technical discussions and long-term strategic choices.

Your Profile

You are an experienced Java Developer who thrives in an expert role and easily grasps complex systems. You have worked with Java Swing previously and feel confident in further developing, improving, and maintaining both new and existing code, even in legacy environments.

Colleagues see you as a natural knowledge resource who is happy to share their experience and coach more junior developers. You combine technical sharpness with a genuine interest in user-friendliness and see the value of good UX even in technically advanced systems.

We see that you have:

• Several years of experience in Java development (senior level, approx. 5 years or more)
• Practical experience with Java Swing (not necessarily for 5 years, but in production environments)
• Ability to make well-founded design and architectural decisions
• A clear UX focus and interest in building user-friendly interfaces
• Ability to work independently while being a strong team player

Additional qualifications include experience with database programming or work in technically complex system environments.

The position requires you to undergo and pass the security clearance according to current regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
