Description of Duties
As a school psychologist with counselor responsibilities, you are a central part of the student health services and work to provide good and safe care for our students. You are responsible for assessments, investigations, and treatment, both at the individual level and in collaboration with groups, and you work to promote and prevent mental and social health issues among students. You conduct developmental assessments and investigations of individual students, including investigations regarding intellectual disability or suspected mental illness or neuropsychiatric disability (NPD), and refer to other healthcare providers if necessary.
You provide support and supervision to staff and drive initiatives for both individual students and groups. You are responsible for proactively driving attendance-promoting initiatives and following up on students with high absenteeism, as well as leading the work on the school's equal treatment plan, including documentation and follow-up via DF-respons, to actively counteract discrimination, harassment, and offensive treatment.
The role also includes contact with guardians and external agencies such as social services and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), as well as conducting presentations and conversations with students regarding safety, health, and well-being. At our small school, we value flexibility; you are happy to step in where needed to contribute to a well-functioning and inclusive school climate.

You also have experience working with counselor tasks within the school and are confident in meeting students from a holistic perspective regarding their mental health and schooling.
It is meritorious if you have experience working and collaborating in teams where different professional categories complement each other. Experience working within student health services is also meritorious, as is a social pedagogy or social work education.
You have good collaboration skills and work in a listening and flexible manner with others. You adapt your communication to individual needs and prerequisites and are empathetic and see different perspectives. This contributes to a respectful and professional approach. You also have a good holistic view and understand how your actions affect the operations, with a focus on its best interests.
