About the workplace

We are now looking for a Platoon Leader (Team Leader) for the Höglandet Rescue Service Consortium. This is a permanent position based in Vetlanda.

The Höglandet Rescue Service Consortium is a municipal association where the municipalities of Nässjö and Vetlanda are members. After the turn of the year, the municipality of Sävsjö will also join. We are responsible for rescue services in the area, but also have other tasks within accident prevention, such as supervision, fire safety control, and chimney sweeping. The organization has approximately 80 full-time employees, of whom 55 are part of the operational response team. In addition, we have 130 part-time firefighters who play a crucial role during emergencies while on standby from home or work.

Job Responsibilities

As a Platoon Leader, you are responsible for the daily operations at the station. You will coordinate, monitor, and conduct exercises with the team, as well as ensure that vehicles and equipment are maintained at an acceptable level. You are also responsible for managing absences due to illness and parental leave related to the Vetlanda station.

In this role, you must be able to work in supportive roles within system command, incident command, and task command, as well as in the roles of Incident Commander, Sector Commander, and Staff Member.

The Platoon Leader's area of responsibility during an incident is to manage task distribution and cooperation. Incident command may occur depending on the situation and needs. In your role as Incident Commander, you also have coordinating responsibility for the working environment during the incident.

The position also includes a departmental assignment focused on incident follow-up after alarms. You will quality-assure incident reports, develop training materials, create routines, and train officers in incident reporting. The role requires good structure, attention to detail, and comfort in conducting training sessions for groups of approximately 10–20 people.

Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

  • Completed the LK1 training course
  • Worked as a Platoon Leader for a few years
  • Good computer skills

Employment type: Permanent position.
Working hours: Shift schedule.
