About the role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a structured and analytical Material Planner who wants to take a key role in their supply chain organization. In this position, you are responsible for ensuring that the right materials are in the right place at the right time – while simultaneously optimizing inventory levels and keeping costs under control. You will act as a central link between purchasing, production, suppliers, and transporters, with an international scope of responsibility covering Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Italy.
Key Responsibilities
As a Material Planner, you have overall responsibility for the material supply to production. You lead and manage inventory replenishment according to established policies and continuously monitor inventory levels to ensure an optimal balance between availability, turnover, and cost. By analyzing production plans, forecasts, and bills of materials, you ensure that material requirements are correctly dimensioned and adapted to changing conditions. You are responsible for placing intercompany purchase orders as well as creating purchase requisitions for third-party suppliers. The role also involves ongoing communication regarding order confirmations, delivery changes, and follow-up of deliveries. You coordinate transport and pickup of materials and finished goods, as well as monitoring delivery times and quality. The role includes close collaboration with suppliers where you monitor supplier performance and handle any discrepancies or disputes at an administrative level. You work proactively to identify bottlenecks in the supply chain and take measures to ensure a stable material flow. Furthermore, you are responsible for maintaining and quality-assuring item and inventory data in ERP/MRP systems, updating reorder points (ROP), and creating new item numbers in ERP and the MDM Item Portal. You also contribute to establishing and developing reorder policies considering OTIF, inventory turnover rate, MTO/MTS, and internal goals for delivery precision.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for you who have experience in material planning, inventory control, or supply chain work, preferably within manufacturing industry. You have a good understanding of material flows, production planning, and forecasting, and are accustomed to working with data as a basis for decision-making in an operational environment. Experience working in ERP/MRP systems is a prerequisite. As a person, you are structured, analytical, and solution-oriented. You thrive in a coordinating role with many contact points and find it easy to collaborate with both internal functions and external suppliers. You are communicative and clear, and have the ability to drive issues forward even when conditions change. Furthermore, you are responsible and proactive, with a natural focus on improvements and efficiency. You are comfortable working in an international environment and are proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
