As a school, we are in an exciting period of change and development. In the autumn of 2025, the social science and economic programs were restarted with strong application numbers. In addition, the school offers vocational programs, introductory programs, special educational needs activities, and an adapted upper secondary program. The breadth of programs leads to a wonderful and dynamic atmosphere! Tyresö Gymnasium has many dedicated teachers and is experienced as calm and secure by both staff and students.

About the position

As Tyresö Gymnasium grows, we are now looking for a new employee with a primary focus on our theoretical programs! The role of Program Coordinator for the Social Science program is a combination of pedagogical leadership and teaching. You will have overall responsibility for the quality, profile, and development of the Social Science program, while also teaching in social studies, sociology, and courses within the humanistic social science specialization such as European Studies and Criminology.

As Program Coordinator, you will lead program team meetings with a focus on coordination, progression, and collegial learning. You are responsible for developing the program and keeping its profile leading and attractive through, for example, external collaborations and guest lectures. You monitor student results and work systematically to develop the content of the education. You are also responsible for developing the international profile of the Social Science programs in connection with international cooperation, democracy, and human rights.

You plan, conduct, and evaluate inspiring teaching that connects social issues to current events.

This is a permanent position at 100% with a desired start date of August 10, 2026. The position is a holiday position (ferietjänst).

The position is subject to the condition that it does not need to be filled by internal transfers.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are an experienced and inspiring educator with a genuine interest in school development and leadership. You have the ability to see the big picture without losing sight of the details, and you thrive on motivating both colleagues and students. You have the qualification to teach social studies and sociology at the upper secondary level and have experience or a strong drive to lead pedagogical processes. You are good at leading, structuring, and organizing work and have an easy time translating curricula into creative teaching. You are skilled at building trust and collaborating with students, colleagues, and school management. We would appreciate it if you had experience of international cooperation and exchanges.
