Are you a driven, change-oriented, and experienced Enterprise Architect who is passionate about creating structures around modern and efficient architecture and ways of working to achieve the best possible business value? Do you thrive in an environment where not all answers exist yet, but where you have the opportunity to influence our ongoing transformation journey?

The Swedish Council for Universities (UHR) is a government agency with a broad mandate within the education sector. Our vision is education, exchange, and development - for everyone who wants to move forward.

For the past few years, UHR has been working on laying the foundations for an architecture framework. Recently, our Director General decided on the architecture policy and guidelines that will apply to the agency, forming the basis for how we work with architecture across the entire organization. Architecture is high on the agenda for the management and the entire leadership group, and we have invested in and begun using a well-established architecture tool.

The role of Enterprise Architect at UHR is strategic with a long-term focus and a clear mandate to establish working methods and further develop the agency's initiated framework. The agency has also decided to establish an EA function, and part of your work will be to get this function up and running.

UHR currently has a small architecture organization where you will become a colleague to a solution architect and an infrastructure architect. You will collaborate with all parts of the organization and also support the business with questions related to business architecture. An important part of the role involves working on architecture issues related to the agency's implementation of AI as support in both operations and our systems.

The position is located within the Department of Digitalization and Service Development, under the Unit for Governance and Coordination.

Department of Digitalization and Service Development

The Department of Digitalization and Service Development is responsible for driving and creating prerequisites for efficient IT development and utilization of digitalization opportunities, from a holistic perspective of the agency.

The department functions largely as a collaboration and support organization, working with all parts of UHR to promote digitalization and development. All employees in the department are expected to possess the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels within UHR's operations.

What you will do/be responsible for

As an Enterprise Architect, your main focus will be to

  • Ensure functioning architecture governance according to a defined model
  • Provide active support in:
    • goal setting
    • prioritization
    • review and follow-up
  • Systematically further develop the framework in line with the organization's maturity
  • Document working methods so that others can take over
  • Prepare and implement the establishment of the EA function

Other tasks may also occur.

You who apply

You have:

  • An academic degree in the field or relevant work experience that the employer considers equivalent
  • At least 7 years of experience in strategic digitalization work within enterprise architecture
  • At least 7 years of experience in independently initiating, developing, and implementing methods and working practices within the area of responsibility
  • At least 7 years of experience in working independently and in collaboration with others based on applied guidelines and practices within the business
  • Very good ability in leadership, proactivity, holistic view, flexibility, and collaboration
  • Very good/good knowledge of Swedish and English

The following are meritorious:

  • Experience of organizational change and establishment of an architecture function
  • Experience of the public sector or other complex regulated environments
  • Experience of governance in an organization with low architectural maturity
  • Experience of building structure rather than just solutions
  • Experience of working in LeanIX

To function well in the role of Enterprise Architect, you need:

  • To have a strong ability to:
    • create consensus across all parts of the organization
    • work long-term
    • lead without line responsibility
    • explain architecture to all parts of the organization – from top management to every individual employee

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

What we do and offer

We offer a professional and stimulating environment with good opportunities for personal development. We value a recruitment process free from discrimination and do not see additional accommodations as a hindrance.

The position is full-time and permanent, with a start date by agreement. UHR applies a six-month probationary period. The location is Solna.
