What does the job as a nursing assistant at Norlandia Elderly Care entail?

A nursing assistant at Norlandia is a valuable key person, and we are looking for you who are skilled in your professional role and enjoy meeting people in various situations. Together in the team with nurses, rehabilitation staff, and management, we collaborate around the resident to provide a good life every day.

We are looking for you with a genuine interest in older people, where your main tasks are to design safe and secure personal care and support. You support the resident in their daily life and create conditions for a secure and meaningful everyday life. As a nursing assistant, you are responsible for providing residents with good, high-quality care and support in accordance with what has been agreed upon with the resident in the implementation plan.

This includes among other things:

• Work as a contact person based on Norlandia's concept "Your Day".
• Personal care and support, and utilizing the residents' own resources.
• Work based on Norlandia's concept "Tasty Meal" so that our residents appreciate the food and that the meal experience adds a golden touch to everyday life.
• Documentation according to the Social Services Act; keeping a social journal and drawing up and following up on implementation plans.
• Plan, offer, and carry out daily activities, outdoor visits, entertainment, crafts, cultural activities, etc., both individual and group activities.
• Perform service tasks such as apartment cleaning, laundry, escorting, and shopping, among others.
• Receive and perform delegated tasks, such as medication delegation.
• Take responsibility in ombudsman roles.
• Actively participate in the organization's quality and improvement work.

About Fryken Elderly Care Home

Fryken is located in Rud, Karlstad. Fryken has 47 places, divided into 5 departments, for people with dementia. We have staff around the clock, and our vision is to create a good life – every day for our residents. We have joint activities every weekday in our gathering room Solglimten and activities on the departments every day, as well as at the individual level once a week. Fryken has walking groups that offer our residents outdoor time every day. On weekends, our residents are served hotel breakfast, and every Saturday a 3-course dinner is served.

• You need to have proof of the right to use the professional title "nursing assistant" from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen).
• It is meritorious if you have previous experience in dementia care and support.
• You need to have good knowledge of documentation.
• You master the Swedish language well in both speech and writing.
• We would like you to have good computer skills/computer literacy.
• We want you to have good knowledge of the national quality registers relevant to the operations.

Other information

Employment type: Permanent employment

Scope: 70–75% according to agreement

Start date: According to agreement

Probation period: We apply a 6-month probation period.

We apply individual salary setting and have a collective agreement. Interviews are conducted continuously, and the position may be filled before the last application date. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

In the event of employment, you must be able to produce an extract from the criminal record register. You must also be able to prove that you have the right to work in Sweden, by showing that you have citizenship within the EU/EEA or alternatively a valid work permit.
