The Social Services Department is responsible for providing support, care, and assistance to people at different stages of life. We work based on individual needs and offer interventions grounded in several laws, including the Social Services Act (SoL), the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS), and the Health and Medical Services Act.
This may involve providing older adults with a secure and meaningful daily life, supporting individuals with disabilities, or being there for children, youth, and adults in vulnerable life situations.

We are looking for Care Assistants and Assistant Nurses for our Home Care services in Varberg Municipality

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for you who want to make a difference in people's daily lives while being part of a professional and caring operation.
As a Care Assistant, you provide support in daily living activities to individuals in need of care. This can include help with personal care, meals, mobility, and creating a meaningful daily life for the user. The work is based on individual implementation plans and aims to strengthen the individual's independence and participation.
As an Assistant Nurse, you provide care and social support to individuals in need of our services. You work based on individual implementation plans and are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on interventions that promote the individual's independence, security, and well-being.
You work closely with colleagues and other professions, and documenting interventions according to current guidelines is part of the role. The position requires good communication skills, flexibility, and a professional attitude – always with the user's needs at the center.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Personal care and support in daily life
- Nursing tasks after delegation
- Documentation in digital systems
- Support to relatives and collaboration with colleagues and other professions
The work is scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends, depending on the operational needs.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you need to be self-assured, have a respectful approach, and be willing to contribute to a good work climate. You need to be meticulous, service-oriented, and able to adapt to the needs of different people.
The job requires good teamwork skills, but also the ability to take responsibility and work independently. It is important that you are sensitive, attentive to changes, and can handle both routine situations and more unexpected events in daily life. You must be able to document in digital systems according to current routines.
As an Assistant Nurse, you need a combination of professional knowledge, responsibility, and a respectful attitude. You enjoy collaborating but are also confident working independently. Your commitment and sensitivity to the needs of others are crucial for success in this role.
We also look for you to have:
- A certified Assistant Nurse education with proof of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- A Category B driver's license is required for most of the home care services. Some home care groups use bicycles instead, so you must be able to cycle.
Experience from elderly care, disability support, and/or social psychiatry is meritorious.
