Fagersta Stainless is one of the world's leading manufacturers of stainless steel wire rod and drawn wire. Our headquarters and production are located in Fagersta, Sweden. In our rolling mill, we produce approximately 50,000 tons of wire rod annually, of which about 10,000 tons are further processed into drawn wire. Fagersta Stainless has a turnover of approximately 160 million Euros and around 250 employees. Our products are sold worldwide, either directly from us or through a network of representatives. We are now looking for two mechanics for the finishing department!

As a mechanic with us, you work both independently and in close collaboration with other maintenance and operations personnel within the finishing department. As needed, you also serve as an extra resource for other areas of the business.

In the role of a day-shift mechanic, the focus is primarily on preventive and planned maintenance, although emergency interventions may also occur. You are involved in our 5S work and daily management, contributing to the development of routines and working methods to continuously improve operations and increase reliability.

We are looking for someone with several years of experience in mechanical maintenance within the manufacturing industry, preferably from the steel industry.

Qualifications that are an advantage:

• Mechanical maintenance of machinery
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Welding (arc welding, MIG/MAG)
• Machining (turning and milling)
• Pumps
• Drawing reading

The position requires a valid B driver's license. Forklift and crane licenses, as well as certificates for Hot Work, are considered advantageous.

To thrive in this role, you are responsible, meticulous, and proactive. You collaborate well and feel comfortable interacting with others. Reporting is done in our maintenance system and to the maintenance manager.
