Description

We are now looking for a temporary school nurse for Fryxellska School for grades 7–9. This is a temporary position lasting until August 31, 2027.

The Student Health and Welfare Service (Elevhälsan) works to promote health and prevent illness to support students' development towards educational goals. As a school nurse, you play a central role in this work and are given good opportunities to influence and develop the content of student health services at the individual, group, and organizational levels. The medical work of the school nurses is led by a medically responsible school nurse (MLA), who serves as a support in the medical mission. The school nurse group holds regular professional meetings.

Responsibilities

As a school nurse, you are part of the school's student health team and work evidence-based with health-promoting and preventive student health work. The goal is to contribute to accessible learning environments and remove obstacles for students' learning and development.

The work takes place in close collaboration with other professions within the student health service, as well as in cooperation with school management, teachers, students, and guardians. The work as a school nurse is varied and stimulating. In the health-promoting and preventive mission for students, it includes health visits, health conversations, vaccinations, value-based work, lifestyle issues, ANDT (Alcohol, Narcotics, Drugs, Tobacco), simpler healthcare interventions, and reception together with the school doctor. You collaborate with external authorities, actors, and healthcare institutions and write referrals as needed.

You support the schools' pedagogical work and participate regularly in local student health teams, and follow the business plan and the annual calendar that has been established for the medical intervention of the student health service.

Qualifications

You who apply are a registered nurse with specialist education in health and care for children and young people, district nurse, or school nurse.

We want you to be a strong driving force in health-promoting work and have experience working in teams. It is an advantage if you have experience working with children and young people. Good knowledge of the Swedish school system is also meritorious. You have good ability to use digital technology as a tool in your daily work, and it is meritorious if you have experience with the Prorenata record system. To succeed in the role, you have the ability to create good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. Furthermore, you are a person with good cooperation skills and a sense of responsibility. Being careful and structured are also qualities we seek. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. The person offered the position must provide an extract from the police's criminal record register. A driver's license is required as there are travel duties involved.
