About the Job

As a Project Coordinator with us, your responsibility will be to support our development projects, as well as to contribute to, drive, and develop our collaborations. Communication is a key part of the role, both in terms of content—supporting the development of nature interpretation—and by communicating CNV’s activities and the projects we run. You will also contribute to teaching and other tasks that may arise within CNV’s operations.

You will work in close collaboration with project managers, researchers, and the director of CNV, as well as with our partners and other staff at the Department of Urban and Rural Development and SLU.

Your Background

We are looking for you who have a university degree in environmental communication, pedagogy, or another education that the employer deems relevant for the position. You should have knowledge and experience in nature interpretation, interpretation, or a related field, both in theory and practice. You should have specific experience working in projects and processes with a limited time scope. You must have a good ability to overview subject areas and produce text, both for social media and high-quality factual texts. You should also be skilled in and interested in editing others' texts. Experience in research communication is an advantage.

Since employees at the department come from different parts of the world and CNV has many international contacts, you should have good knowledge of both Swedish and English. It is an advantage if you are proficient in image editing programs, layout programs, and the web publishing tool Optimizely, as well as the digital publishing program Ungapped.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You are a calm and methodical person with commitment and drive in your work. You are positive, outgoing, and accustomed to working in broad collaboration within projects. At the same time, you should enjoy working independently. Initiative is very important. The work also requires attention to detail and good organizational skills.

About Us

At the Department of Urban and Rural Development, undergraduate education, doctoral education, research, and collaboration are conducted across five divisions: agrarian history, landscape architecture, rural development, environmental communication, and the division for political science and natural resource management. This division also houses Sida’s helpdesk for environmental assessment. The department is also home to the Centre for Nature Interpretation (CNV). The department is the largest within SLU for social sciences, humanities, and design. Questions regarding the sustainable use of natural resources and landscapes are central to the department’s research, teaching, and collaboration. Approximately 160 people are employed at the department.

SLU’s Centre for Nature Interpretation (CNV) has five employees. We work with research, teaching, and commissioned activities. CNV has a mandate from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency to contribute to nature interpreters in Sweden gaining better knowledge to practice nature interpretation with high professionalism, as well as to support the agency in tasks requiring nature interpretation competence.

CNV, in collaboration with SLU, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, and the wider world, shall:

  • develop knowledge and inform about the methods, prerequisites, purposes, and possibilities of nature interpretation.
  • act as a cohesive active node in a national network for nature interpreters and persons with influence over nature interpretation.
  • participate in investigations, evaluations, etc., with competence and experience in nature interpretation.
