The central Child and Student Health Service organizes the municipality's statutory student health professions. The school psychologist profession has assignments within preschool, primary school, and upper secondary school. The work is carried out in close collaboration with schools, staff, and students, with a focus on accessible learning environments and positive learning identities.

Child and Student Health is divided into four school areas, each with a unit manager. Your primary workplace will be in the primary school, where you will work in student health teams together with principals as supervisors. You are also part of a central psychology team with six engaged colleagues and contribute to development and improvement work at both the school unit and professional levels.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a school psychologist for the Student Health Service, primarily placed in the primary school.

As a school psychologist, you contribute psychological competence to the primary school's comprehensive student health work. The work has a clear focus on preventive and promoting measures, as well as measures at the organizational and group levels, but also includes remedial work within the school's mission. You work with adolescents in their late teens and address issues such as school attendance, motivation, and adjustments in the learning environment. The school psychologist's task is to monitor the connection between the organization, the learning environment, and the student's prerequisites.

You work at the individual, group, and organizational levels and are a natural part of the upper secondary school's student health team.

Your assignment will include:

• Collaborating with teachers, principals, and other professions in the student health team in health-promoting, preventive, and remedial student health work.
• Contributing the psychological perspective in interdisciplinary meeting formats and collaborating with healthcare and social services when necessary.
• Conducting school-related assessments of students' needs and conducting investigations regarding school forms.
• Otherwise, working based on the job description as well as local and national steering documents that regulate the operations and professional practice.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

• Are a licensed psychologist.
• Have experience working with children and young people, preferably with adolescents of primary school age.
• Are secure in your professional role and have good collaboration skills, as you often participate in interdisciplinary teams and collaborate with staff, students, and parents to find the best solutions.
• Have good knowledge or wish to develop within the knowledge areas that are central to the school psychologist's work.
• Are solution-oriented and transform challenges into constructive measures that make a difference for the students.

Experience in school psychological work and psychological investigations is meritorious.
