The Department of Medical and Translational Biology is now seeking an intermittent employee for work as a caretaker in anatomy during urgent needs.

Description of the workplace

The Anatomical Competence Centre at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå is a dissection hall used for embalming bodies, performing dissections, teaching, and training students and surgeons.

Job Responsibilities

The main duties involve maintaining the cleanliness of the dissection hall, embalming bodies, moving bodies in and out of cold storage, spraying, and receiving bodies at the mortuary. The embalming is performed to teach students on medical, dental, and nursing programs.

Qualifications

You must have relevant education in anatomy as well as experience in embalming donated bodies. Substantial experience in daily operations at the Anatomical Competence Centre at Norrlands University Hospital is desirable.

Terms of Employment

The position is an intermittent employment with an hourly wage during a framework period of 5 months, starting in August 2026 or as agreed.

This intermittent form of employment means that you may be offered work on a few short-term occasions during the current framework period. The employment occasions are time-limited with support from the Employment Protection Act (Lagen om anställningsskydd) 5 § 1 p. Being available in this way means that you can accept or decline each occasion you are offered to work, and a new employment relationship is established for each individual occasion you work.
