Clinical Assistant in Pulmonary Medicine with a Focus on COPD Research
We are now seeking a Clinical Assistant for our research group in pulmonary medicine and epidemiological COPD research. The position is linked to a research project on airway obstruction and COPD in smokers and never-smokers, with a special focus on clinical characteristics, biomarkers, lung function, structural lung changes, and prognosis in Swedish population-based cohorts.
The employment is fixed-term for approximately three months, by agreement, with a scope of 80 %.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities consist mainly of research-related work within the project. This includes working with clinical and epidemiological research data, compiling and quality-assuring study data, and supporting analyses related to lung function, smoking status, symptoms, biomarkers, and structural lung changes.
The role may also include literature reviews, work with study documentation, basic data processing, support in interpreting clinical variables, and participation in preparing scientific summaries and manuscripts. Administrative tasks may also be included.
Qualifications
According to the Higher Education Ordinance, eligible for employment as a clinical assistant are those who have completed a medical degree or are admitted or have been admitted to doctoral-level education in medicine.
We are looking for you who have a medical degree. The position requires a good clinical understanding of internal medicine or pulmonary medicine issues, as well as the ability to work with clinical data and scientific material in a structured and meticulous manner.
Since communication within the department and research group takes place in both Swedish and English, you must have good proficiency in speaking and writing in both languages.
The work requires good teamwork skills, independence, attention to detail, and analytical ability. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Merits
Previous experience in clinical research, epidemiological studies, or work with population-based cohort data is considered an asset. Experience in pulmonary medicine, COPD, spirometry, biomarkers, lung imaging, or smoking-related diseases is also considered an asset.
Experience in data management, basic statistical analysis, chart review, literature reviews, or scientific writing is also considered an asset.
Application
Your application should include a CV, a cover letter, and a copy of your degree certificate, and must be received by 2022-06-26.
We look forward to receiving your application!
