Occupational Therapist for Short-term Accommodation in Borlänge

The rehabilitation department at Borlänge Municipality is a cheerful team that supports each other, and we are now looking for you who want to become part of our good work environment. We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist, primarily for our short-term accommodation facility.

You will join a workplace with broad competence, a forward-looking attitude, and great opportunities to influence your own working day. In addition to close collaboration with other occupational therapists and physiotherapists, you will also have support from MAR (Medical Assistants/Rehabilitation Assistants), rehabilitation assistants, and administrators.

The municipality's rehabilitation activities are broad and include home care, special housing, short-term accommodation, and disability care. You will have a varied, developmental, and enjoyable work environment where you are given significant responsibility, while always having colleagues who are there to support you.

As a new employee, you will participate in our introduction program with supervision. Your introduction is tailored individually to your needs. The standard duration of the introduction is four weeks. Everything is designed to ensure you have a great start with us, feel comfortable, and secure.

Job Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist at the short-term accommodation facility, you work in a person-centered manner. You work in a team together with physiotherapists, nurses, and care staff. Together in the team, we create the conditions for the patient to live as independent, participatory, and meaningful a life as possible.

You assess activity capacity, plan and carry out interventions, and follow up on rehabilitation goals in close collaboration with other professions. The focus is on increasing independence prior to discharge through rehabilitation, training, and the prescription of assistive devices. You support and motivate individuals to develop and maintain their activity and mobility skills. In discharge planning, home visits are conducted as needed to facilitate discharge with assistive devices and assessment of the living environment. Your tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Activity assessment by evaluating patients' ability to manage daily activities (ADL)
  • Investigate and assess rehabilitation needs
  • Test, adapt, prescribe, and follow up on assistive devices
  • Supervise and educate staff, relatives, and other professions
  • Contribute to and participate in the ongoing development work of the operations
  • Collaborate with other actors and authorities around the people of Borlänge
  • Write certificates, such as housing adaptation certificates

Qualifications

For the role, the following are required:

  • You must be a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Category B driver's license for manual transmission vehicles
  • Good communicative skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, based on medical record writing and communication with colleagues, healthcare staff, patients, and relatives

Meritorious:

Salary: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent.
Working hours: Daytime.
