As a Field Technician at Geomatikk, you will have an independent and responsible job in the field, where you protect society's buried infrastructure using modern technology. We are now looking for our next technician for Kiruna and surrounding areas with experience from working in a railway environment and a good understanding of the safety requirements that apply.

Your mission: Protect buried infrastructure

Groundworks are taking place all over Sweden every day – and every day there is a risk that important cables for electricity, fiber, and water will be damaged. Damage that can have serious consequences for societal functions, businesses, and critical services. At Geomatikk, we work to protect this important infrastructure that keeps society running.

As a Field Technician at Geomatikk, you play an important role in preventing these disruptions, both along the railway, roads, and other places where groundworks are carried out. Using modern measuring instruments, you locate and mark exactly where the buried cables are located – so that groundworks can be carried out safely without damaging the infrastructure.

Your daily life as a Field Technician

The role involves significant personal responsibility and plenty of fresh air! You spend your workday in the field with the car as your rolling office. Your days vary, but what they have in common is that you move between different locations and contribute with your competence and safety mindset. Therefore, it is important that you are service-oriented, clear in your communication, and enjoy taking personal responsibility.

You will:

• Locate, mark, and measure cables with advanced measuring technology both along the railway, roads, and other places where groundworks are carried out
• Prevent cable damage
• Contact customers and contractors in the field

We are looking for you who have

Basic Requirements:

• Previous experience of working in the field in a railway environment, for example, track work, technical maintenance, or safety-related tasks.
• Knowledge of railway safety and regulations regarding track work
• Education and experience as a SoS leader, SoS planner, or TSM
• Technical mind and ability to read maps and technical documentation
• Good orientation skills and a strong safety mindset
• Service-oriented and clear in communication
• Category B driver's license and upper secondary education or equivalent
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing

Meritorious:

• Experience within railway maintenance or construction work
• English language skills

Safety Requirements & Health Check

Since Geomatikk is covered by the Security Protection Act, you who apply for the position must undergo a security clearance. This consists of a register check and a special interview, and is carried out in connection with or after your employment interview. You need to give your own consent for us to carry out the clearance.

The position also requires you to undergo a health check, according to customer requirements and the tasks involved. Employment can only take place if both the security clearance and the health check are approved.
