Every day, Östgötatrafiken helps approximately 4,000 people get to medical appointments, work, and social engagements. We are now looking for you who want to start as an Order Receiver at the Booking Center in Mjölby – and who, in the long run, wish to develop further into the role of Traffic Controller.

About the Position

This is a full-time consultancy assignment lasting 6 months. You will be employed by Bravura and work as a consultant for Östgötatrafiken. There are good opportunities for extending the assignment or obtaining permanent employment.

About the Company

Östgötatrafiken is owned by Region Östergötland and has the task of planning, coordinating, and operating public transport in the county. The operations include bus, train, and tram traffic, as well as booked transport such as door-to-door service (färdtjänst), medical travel, and local transport. Every year, tens of millions of journeys are made with Östgötatrafiken, where public transport is an important tool for both accessibility and more sustainable travel in the region.

Booked transport is an important part of Östgötatrafiken's mission and is directed towards people who, for various reasons, cannot travel with regular public transport, for example through door-to-door service, medical travel, and local transport. The operations are coordinated from the booking center in Mjölby, which is staffed 24/7 year-round. Here, order receivers and traffic controllers work closely together and in collaboration with drivers, municipalities, and healthcare providers throughout Östergötland to ensure that every journey is safe and efficient.

Responsibilities

As an Order Receiver, you receive and handle travel bookings via phone, book and reschedule trips in the booking system, and help customers with questions regarding travel, the app, and regulations. You also handle deviations and work actively to ensure that conversations are both safe and efficient. In the role, you collaborate closely with colleagues and traffic controllers, and over time, the idea is that you will gradually develop further into the traffic controller role where you take greater responsibility for planning, coordination, and handling of more complex traffic situations.

• Book and reschedule trips in the booking system
• Help customers with app, technology, and practical questions
• Handle deviations and changes in trips
• Provide service with a focus on safety, clarity, and efficiency

Education, Experience, and Personal Qualities

Requirements:

• Completed upper secondary education
• Good computer literacy
• Comfortable with high call volume and phone as a work tool
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English

Meritorious:

• Experience in customer service, call center, or other telephone-based service
• Background in traffic control, coordination, or logistics
• Experience from healthcare, home care, or similar operations

To thrive in the role, you need to be meticulous and able to work systematically even when the pace is high. You listen to the customer but also take responsibility for steering the conversation forward and making decisions within given frameworks. You are social, cooperative, and quick to take feedback – and use it to develop. In the long run, in the traffic controller role, it is required that you are confident in making decisions, handling more complex situations, and standing firm even when the pressure is high.
