Our Operations

Since 2019, Region Uppsala has operated its own medicine preparation unit at Akademiska sjukhuset. The work takes place at the Central Preparation Unit (CBE) and the Radio-pharmaceutical Preparation Unit (RBE), both located at Entrance 100/101, in new cleanroom facilities specifically built for this purpose. At CBE, we prepare cytostatics and other aseptic medicines for the hospital's wards. At RBE, radio-pharmaceuticals are prepared for the Nuclear Medicine department.

The Medicine Preparation Unit is part of Akademiska sjukhuset's hospital pharmacy function, Medicines and Pharmacy. Within this department, there is extensive pharmaceutical expertise distributed across various operations, such as clinical pharmacy, ward pharmacy, medicine supply, clinical trials, quality review, etc.

Currently, approximately 20 employees (pharmacists, dispensing pharmacists, and assistants) work within the Medicine Preparation Unit to provide extemporaneous preparations for our patients. We now have the opportunity to offer a permanent position, and we are looking for you who have a great interest in medicine manufacturing and wish to develop together with us.

Your Role

The main tasks involve extemporaneous manufacturing, including order preparation and final control of cytostatics and other aseptic preparations. Manufacturing at CBE takes place in a B-classified room in safety cabinets in accordance with current regulations (GMP).

Here, you will work in a tight-knit team characterized by good cooperation, high competence, flexibility, and responsibility, with the patient's best interests in focus. We are a natural part of the hospital and maintain close contact with the ordering wards and other pharmacists within our organization.

Your Qualifications

Registered Dispensing Pharmacist (Leg. Receptarie) with preparation competence or Registered Pharmacist (Leg. Apotekare). Experience in extemporaneous manufacturing and good knowledge of GMP are meritorious.

You collaborate easily with the work group as well as with the ordering wards, and you contribute positive energy to the group. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

What We Offer

Permanent employment with a start date no earlier than 2026-08-24 or as agreed. A probationary period of up to 6 months may apply. Full-time, 40 hours/week.
