Uddevalla – A Place for Life
Welcome to become part of our growing municipality and work with us to provide even better service to our residents.
We offer an attractive workplace that gives you great opportunities to develop in your professional role. Our goal is for everyone to thrive and grow throughout their entire career. We also strive to develop as an employer and actively work to make the most of your knowledge and commitment. We appreciate and encourage participation from everyone.
Uddevalla Municipality is a beautiful location by the sea in the heart of Bohuslän. We believe in an open and positive interaction between the municipality, education, business, and culture.
We hope you will enjoy working with us!
We are now looking for three committed and flexible kitchen staff resources who want to make a difference in our kitchens.
About the Position
As a kitchen staff resource, you will be based at a large preparation kitchen within the Meals Department. The role involves covering for sick leave, holidays, and other absences in various kitchens within the meals unit. The operational area extends from Lane-Ryr in the north to Ljungskile in the south and includes kitchens in preschools, primary and secondary schools, as well as elderly care.
The work means that you may need to change both workplace and tasks with short notice during the workday. This requires you to be flexible and enjoy varied work, while also working responsibly, carefully, and with a focus on quality.
The need for coverage can arise throughout the entire meals unit area. The work involves traveling between different kitchens, making a Category B driver's license a requirement. Having access to a car is an advantage. All three positions are full-time (100%).
During the summer months (June–August), all employees work according to a schedule adapted to the needs of the operation. Tasks are performed in the elderly care kitchens and involve varied activities related to cooking, serving, and daily kitchen routines. During the part of the summer period not covered by vacation, weekend work is included in the schedule. Therefore, work may be scheduled on weekdays and weekends, depending on vacation planning and staffing needs.
Responsibilities
- Plan, cook, and serve meals, as well as perform post-meal tasks.
- Lead and distribute daily work in the kitchen and dining room as needed.
- Actively work for good quality, hygiene, and well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the development of the operation.
We are looking for someone who
- Is highly committed to good, nutritious, and well-prepared food.
- Is flexible, service-oriented, and enjoys varied workplaces.
- Is proactive, responsible, and easy to collaborate with.
- Is creative and open to new ways of working.
Qualifications
- Upper secondary education in restaurant/hospitality or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience working in large kitchens.
- Good knowledge of special diets, food hygiene, nutrition, and self-control.
- Good computer skills and experience with budget monitoring.
- Very good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Category B driver's license (access to a car is an advantage).
Personal suitability is given great weight.
