About the workplace

As one of our employees has chosen to try other work, we are now looking for new colleagues for our well-equipped dialysis clinic in Varberg.

The workplace is located at the hospital in Varberg, and in 2017 we moved into completely new premises. Our nephrology specialty consists of three outpatient units: a clinic for HD (hemodialysis), one for PD (peritoneal dialysis), as well as the Kidney Clinic. We also have close cooperation with Ward 4A.

Hemodialysis operations are conducted during daytime hours, Monday–Friday 07:00–16:00 and Saturday 07:00–15:00. The clinic is closed at other times. The patients are primarily those with chronic kidney failure who come from home to the clinic for HD treatment 2–4 times a week. Some emergency operations occur, and we also perform hemodialysis on the ICU if needed.

We are also involved in investigations prior to transplantation and donation. In addition, patients with advanced kidney failure come here for training in self-dialysis, prior to independent treatment in their own homes. At our clinic, there are good opportunities to experience working in PD (peritoneal dialysis) as well as in the Kidney Clinic, with the possibility of rotation in the future. One of our goals is to eventually launch a self-dialysis clinic where the patient can come and go to manage their own treatment.

Your role with us

The clinic is staffed by nurses and doctors. We also have support from dietitians, physiotherapists, and social workers. Here, nursing care and medical technology are combined, and we offer you a varied, developmental, and exciting job with the opportunity for further education in nephrology. No two days are alike, and you work at a varying pace in close cooperation with experienced colleagues. You have nursing responsibility for a small number of patients but mostly work in a team.

About you

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse. If you have experience from dialysis and nephrology as well as experience with Fresenius 5008, it is an advantage. However, this is not decisive; first and foremost, we look at your personality and maturity. If you also have a special interest in medical technology equipment and modern digital solutions in healthcare, it is a bonus. We offer a structured introduction with shadowing based on your prior knowledge.

You have the ability to take initiative, work independently, and have good problem-solving skills and a positive attitude. Since you will have close cooperation with other professions, good teamwork skills are an important attribute. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language.
