About the position

In this role, you will work within Clinical Pathology and Cancer Diagnostics at Danderyd Hospital, a department with a central function in the care chain by enabling accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatment for patients. The unit is part of the largest pathology laboratory in the Nordic countries, handles approximately 300,000 samples annually, and currently operates fully digitally within histopathology. The workplace is characterized by a good and welcoming atmosphere, permeated by Karolinska's core values: responsibility, humanity, and a holistic view.

The work primarily involves traditional laboratory work within histopathology, such as handling fresh and formalin-fixed tissue material, preparation, embedding, microtomy, as well as histochemical and immunohistochemical staining. The role also includes handling laboratory instruments, working in information systems, collaborating with various professional groups within the unit, participating in quality, development, and improvement work, and contacting referring physicians.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensed biomedical analyst or equivalent education, such as laboratory engineer.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Merits:

  • Previous work experience within laboratory medicine.
