Your Workplace

Vårdcentralen Gripen is centrally located in Karlstad, just a few steps from the Klarälven river, Värmland Museum, and the lush museum park. With approximately 19,500 registered patients and over 50 engaged employees, we are Värmland's largest primary healthcare center – yet our atmosphere remains personal, welcoming, and characterized by collaboration.

In the spring, our medical team consists of 13 doctors, eight specialists in general practice, and five resident doctors (ST-läkare). The breadth of experience, competence, and commitment creates both security and development potential. Here, you have significant influence over your own schedule, and our open phone hours give you good opportunities to plan and prioritize your work yourself.

Your Responsibilities

As a resident doctor (ST-läkare) at Gripen, you will have a varied and stimulating job involving:

• Scheduled clinics and acute patient cases.
• Certain on-call and standby duties in consultation with supervisors.
• Active participation in business development with a focus on accessibility, patient safety, and quality.
• Distributed secondary tasks, such as responsibility for SÄBO (care for people with disabilities) or work at the midwife's clinic, may occur; these are distributed within the medical team.

We work purposefully with continuity and fixed doctor-patient contact, and offer good opportunities for competence development, including joint referral reviews and an academic meeting every week.

We also have well-established multidisciplinary teams including social workers, psychologists, district nurses with various specialist competencies, podiatrists, assistant nurses, and care administrators. We also have pharmacists and close cooperation with needs assessors from Karlstad Municipality.

Your Knowledge and Competencies

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with an interest in primary care and wish to become a specialist in general practice. You also have the authorization to work within Swedish healthcare and wish to contribute to driving our operations forward, whether you are new or have progressed some way in your residency.

As a person, you are responsible, structured, and secure in your interactions. You work with quality awareness and have the ability to see the whole picture in the operations and the patient's needs, while simultaneously acting according to your own convictions. You enjoy working with people, collaborating in teams, and creating good patient relationships. We value qualities such as flexibility, constructiveness, and good teamwork skills.
