About the position

On September 1, 2015, a new operation was launched in Örebro Municipality: Neuropsychiatric Resource and Collaboration. It was implemented as a so-called social investment between 2015–2018. From September 1, 2018, NP Resource and Collaboration became part of Örebro Municipality's regular operations.

The target group within NP Resource and Collaboration consists of young people who have completed compulsory school but have not yet turned 25 years old, with NPF*-issues, relatives of the target group, and professionals who come into contact with the target group of young people with NPF issues.

We offer advice, support, guidance, and strategies to help young people and relatives manage their daily lives better. This may involve getting started or finishing tasks, planning, organizing, managing time, as well as challenges in social relationships or situations. 

*NPF = Neuropsychiatric functional impairment, e.g., ADHD, autism spectrum, Tourette's, speech disorder. 

Examples of tasks:

• provide relevant strategies related to NPF, individually or in groups 
• counsel and lecture for professionals
• write reports and document in the operational system
• provide good treatment by being flexible in the meeting with the individual
• collaborate with other actors regarding an individual's needs, e.g., via SIP meetings
• guide and accompany the young person to other societal actors

About the workplace

NP Resource and Collaboration is organized within the Unit for Young People and Outreach, belonging to the Upper Secondary School and Labor Market Administration in Örebro Municipality. Within the Unit for Young People and Outreach, a total of 27 employees work, and the team NP Resource and Collaboration consists of 3 employees. We are located in centrally located premises. NP Resource and Collaboration is part of the Upper Secondary School and Labor Market Administration. Here, 1400 employees work in a variety of roles to give young people and adult residents of Örebro the same conditions for education and self-support. Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in the role, we see that you have good pedagogical insight and the ability to adapt your working method based on the individual's needs and conditions. You are good at building trusting relationships and are relationship-building in your treatment of young people, relatives, and collaboration partners.

You have a well-developed ability to collaborate and are accustomed to working both independently and together with other professions in collaboration around the individual. The role places high demands on specialist knowledge within NPF, where you translate your knowledge into practical support, guidance, and strategies in everyday life.

Furthermore, you are a stable and secure person who can handle complex situations and maintain a calm and professional attitude even when the work is sometimes challenging. You work in a structured manner, are flexible in the meeting with the individual, and have a genuine commitment to the target group.

Requirements:

• Category B driver's license
• completed adequate university education of at least 180 hp, e.g., social worker, behavioral scientist, occupational therapist, special educator, or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position
• at least 3-5 years of work experience working with the target group within NPF as well as very good knowledge and experience of working with individuals with NPF diagnosis
• experience of using visual support in conversations, for example by "writing and talking" on a whiteboard
