About the Job

Borås Primary Health Care Centre is looking for a certified Diabetes Nurse for our clinic. The position is full-time with a permanent contract, and the work takes place during daytime hours without on-call duties or weekend shifts.

The role is combined: you will be responsible for our diabetes clinic but will also be part of the general nursing team, providing telephone advice and triage for all patients at the health centre.

About the Workplace

We are a primary health care centre with approximately 4,000 registered patients. The team consists of doctors, nurses, psychologists, and administrative staff. The limited patient list size ensures a balanced workload and good conditions for continuity in patient care.

Responsibilities

Diabetes Care

• Running your own diabetes clinic, conducting independent assessments, treatments, and follow-ups for patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes
• Adjusting medication regimens in collaboration with doctors, including insulin adjustments
• Supporting and educating patients in self-care, diet, physical activity, and self-monitoring
• Annual check-ups, including foot assessments and referrals for retinal photography
• Managing blood glucose meters, sensors (CGM), and insulin pumps, as well as supporting patients in their use

General Nursing Duties

• Telephone advice and triage for all patients at the health centre, regardless of the reason for the visit
• Running your own nurse-led clinic with independent assessments and treatments
• Sample collection and minor medical procedures
• Follow-up of patients in collaboration with doctors

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse with completed postgraduate education in diabetes care (university-level education in diabetes care or equivalent).
• Experience in independent diabetes work in primary care is meritorious.
• A District Nurse degree is meritorious.
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Computer literacy. Experience with AsynjaVisph and 1177 is meritorious.

Conditions

• Working hours Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00. Occasional days starting at 07:00 may occur.
• Permanent contract. Probation period applies.
• Salary according to collective agreement with Vårdförbundet, set individually.
• Wellness allowance.
