About the Role
Psychologist at a Rural Health Center – Working with Both Children and Adults
Do you want to work broadly with mental health in a rural area where you make a real difference for children, young people, and adults? We are now looking for a licensed psychologist for the Älvdalen Health Center. Here, you will enjoy varied, independent, and meaningful work in an organization that focuses on quality, accessibility, and collaboration.
About the Department
We are responsible for approximately 5,000 registered patients. Here, dedicated staff from various professions – doctors, nurses, speech therapists, rehabilitation coordinators, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, MBHV psychologists, and more – work together with a shared focus on teamwork and a holistic approach. We also have counseling clinics for children and young people, collaborating closely with school health services, social services, and other healthcare providers. Children and young people referred to us are triaged through the "One Way In" initiative, meaning the level of care is assessed before contact. The department is under development, and we want you to help shape the future of primary psychological care in rural areas.
Responsibilities
This is a shared position where you will work with both children/young people and adult patients within the scope of primary care.
The work includes, among other things:
- Psychiatric assessments and mapping
- Psychological treatment individually and in groups
- Parental conversations and counseling
- Treatment of adults with various types of mental illness
- ACT groups and opportunities to develop group activities
- Collaboration with other professions and external actors
- Involvement in development work and improvement of routines
The approach is primary care-oriented, focusing on offering high-quality interventions to many. You work independently but in close cooperation with colleagues in a secure and competent team.
Working hours are during the day, Monday–Friday.
What We Offer
- Meaningful and varied work in a rural area
- Opportunities to influence and develop the department
- Competent and supportive colleagues
- Internal and external supervision
- A work environment where participation and job satisfaction are important
Here, you will work close to the patients and contribute to a sustainable rural area with development potential.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Licensed psychologist
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Category B driver's license
Merits:
- Experience from primary psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), pediatric medicine, or school health services
- Experience in primary care
- Further education in psychological treatment (e.g., CBT)
- Experience with the medical record system Cosmic
- Interest in digital healthcare solutions
We are looking for someone who is flexible, relationship-building, and confident in their professional role. You thrive in both independent work and teamwork, and you want to contribute to the continued development of the department. Personal suitability is highly valued.
Do you want to combine the breadth of primary care with the opportunity to work both preventively and therapeutically – for children, young people, and adults?
We welcome your application!
