SiS Youth Home Stigby on Visingsö accommodates 35 non-compulsory school-aged boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. The facility is divided into an intake and needs assessment unit (MBB), four treatment units, and a discharge preparation unit in Jönköping.

Job Description

We are currently seeking positive and service-oriented employees with strong cooking skills and knowledge of hygiene management for our kitchen. You will be part of the operations within the restaurant and food program at SiS Youth Home Stigby. You will join a team working towards a positive work environment where everyone's ideas are respected and welcomed. The role involves working with the rest of the kitchen staff to ensure regular operations, serving approximately 100 lunches on weekdays.

Since our kitchen also serves as a training ground for young people in the restaurant and food program, we place great emphasis on your personal suitability. We are looking for someone who is warm, empathetic, and shares knowledge to foster a strong sense of teamwork. A fundamentally positive view of people and the ability to handle conflicts constructively are key traits we value.

The working hours are during the day. As a casual employee at SiS, you will undergo an adapted introductory training to prepare you for the role.

Qualifications

We primarily seek candidates who are trained chefs or have experience deemed equivalent by the employer. You should have good knowledge of self-control measures and food hygiene, and experience in similar roles within the restaurant or institutional catering sector is preferred. As a person, you are responsible, independent, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. A positive attitude and respectful interaction with colleagues and young people are essential.

Requirements:

• Completed upper secondary education
• Experience working in a kitchen
• Good Swedish language skills (written and spoken)
• Valid B-class driver's license

Employment:

This is a casual (hourly) position. Start date is by agreement. Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis.
