We are now looking for a school nurse for Årsta Special School and Johannesbäck Special School, with duties within the School Health Service's Medical Component (EMI). These schools have a combined total of approximately 150 students.

Description of Duties
As a school nurse, you are a natural part of the school's Student Health Team (SHT) and contribute medical expertise to the interdisciplinary collaboration to create a safe and health-promoting learning environment for students with intellectual disabilities and other functional variations.
In the role of school nurse, you will:
- Be responsible for the administration and organization of school doctor clinics.
- Provide counseling and perform basic healthcare interventions.
- Execute the basic program within the School Health Service's Medical Component, i.e., conduct health talks, health assessments, and vaccinations.
- Follow up, evaluate, and analyze interventions together with the student, guardian, and SHT.
- Work actively to promote health and prevent illness based on the school's and students' needs.
- Contribute to identifying and removing obstacles for students' development and learning.
- Document according to current regulations in the journal system.
- Collaborate with guardians, teachers, and student assistants, as well as external actors such as habilitation, healthcare, and social services.
- Participate in the school's systematic quality and work environment work.
You are also part of a professional network with school nurses in the municipality, where you have the opportunity for experience sharing, quality development, and support in your work.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a registered nurse with a specialist nurse education in one of the following specializations: district nurse 75 hp, child and youth 60 hp, or school nurse 60 hp. The work requires that you have very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You also need to have good knowledge of relevant legislation (Education Act, Health and Medical Services Act, Patient Safety Act, Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act).
We would appreciate it if you have experience working as a school nurse and in special schools or with children with disabilities. Knowledge of neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD) and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) is an advantage. Knowledge of complex medical issues is also considered meritorious.
You work structured by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work efficiently, so that students receive safe and accessible support and that documentation and follow-up occur according to current routines. You have high independence and take responsibility for your tasks, make professional assessments, and act based on your own conviction within the framework of your assignment. At the same time, you have good collaboration skills and work closely with students, guardians, and school staff in a listening, communicative, and constructive manner to promote students' health and well-being.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
