Librarian for Children and Young Adults – Strängnäs Library

Strängnäs Library consists of the main library, which is part of the cultural house Multeum, as well as district libraries in Mariefred, Åker, and Stallarholmen.

We are now looking for an engaged and driven librarian with a focus on children and young adults for our main library!

1 position.

Responsibilities

You will primarily work with pedagogical activities aimed at children and young adults during their leisure time. You will develop ideas and implement activities based on the library plan and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. You will collaborate with external organizations, schools, preschools, other departments within the Culture Department, and other staff members.

Information services, including evening and weekend shifts, as well as general librarian duties, are included in the position.

Qualifications and Merits

We are looking for someone who has:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library and Information Science.
• Good knowledge of current literature and a genuine interest in library development.
• Experience with Book-IT and solid digital competence that allows you to quickly familiarize yourself with our systems and working methods.
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.

Previous experience working with children and young people is considered an advantage.
