Vacancy for the Children's Team at Koordinaten

In the archipelago town of Oxelösund, you have close access to housing, work, transport, services, nature, and the sea. It is just over an hour to Stockholm and just under an hour to Norrköping. The region's airport, the E4 highway, and the railway are also nearby.

Koordinaten is a multi-purpose house in central Oxelösund with a library, tourism office, culture center, café, and youth center under one roof. We are now looking for a substitute for our children's team as one of our employees is on parental leave. The position is located both at the school library and at Koordinaten, with a workload of 75%. Evening and weekend duties are included.

Job Responsibilities

• Be part of Koordinaten's children's team
• Responsible for the maintenance of the school libraries together with the rest of the children's team
• Work to promote reading through book talks, read-aloud sessions, and source criticism
• Work with information services at Koordinaten and coordinate events

Qualifications

• Librarian education or other education and experience considered equivalent
• Experience working with children and literature
• Strong interest in children's literature and children's culture
• Knowledge of and interest in working with sources, source criticism, and information retrieval
• High digital maturity
• Good social skills and creative thinking
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
• Personal suitability is highly valued

Broader language skills are considered a merit.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
Working hours: The Culture and Leisure Department has a local agreement on annual working hours. Part-time workload of 75%.

The position will be filled provided it does not need to be taken by already employed staff or if the conditions for recruitment change.

As Oxelösund Municipality is part of the Finnish administrative area, we welcome applicants with knowledge of Finnish. Other language skills in addition to Swedish and English are also viewed positively.
