Job Description

With us, you have a unique opportunity to work with the parish's musical activities in an inclusive and inspiring environment. We are looking for you who want to work broadly, engage, and develop the parish's activities and musical life in close collaboration with colleagues.

Your duties will include playing at services and church ceremonies. Additionally, you will work with the adult choir and, together with other musicians in the parish, facilitate singing for children and youth. With your musical competence, you will help develop, enrich, and inspire the life of the parish.

You will be welcomed by a positive and committed team of 12 highly competent people, consisting of priests, deacons, educators, organists, parish musicians, hostesses, and caretakers.

The parish has two churches: Fors Church, dating back to the 12th century, and St. Andrew's Church, completed in 1988. The organs in both of our churches are of high quality.

In addition to the above responsibilities, other musical projects, activities, and parish-wide events may be included. The work also involves some administrative tasks and travel within the parish area.

Work on evenings, weekends, and major holidays is included.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• Church musician education according to the Church of Sweden's church musician exam at least at C-level, or another musician education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Good computer skills, as this is part of daily work.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, as this is part of daily work.
• Membership in the Church of Sweden and agreement with the Church of Sweden's basic values.
• A valid B-class driver's license, as the parish area is geographically extensive and travel is required for the position.

Other Information

Eskilstuna Parish Area consists of four parishes, two preschools, and a funeral service. The support function has broad competence, allowing the parishes to focus on their operations.
