Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and different with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Culture is an important part of Stockholm's nervous system and touches millions of people every year. At the Culture Administration, we work together to strengthen cultural life in Stockholm.
We have an open working climate where employees are highly involved in development. Join us and contribute to Stockholm growing with culture!
The Cultural School operates throughout the city of Stockholm; see address and location in the job description.
Welcome to us
The Culture Administration has approximately 1,000 employees and includes the Cultural School, Stockholm City Library, Liljevalchs Art Hall, Stockholm Art, and the City Museum with the Medieval Museum and Stockholmia Publishing. The Events Department arranges large public events such as the Stockholm Culture Festival and the youth festival We Are Sthlm. The Culture Administration's activities have approximately 11 million visitors each year.
The Culture Administration works to ensure that the cultural offering in Stockholm consists of a variety of different expressions, offerings, and opportunities, while also containing both breadth and excellence. The Culture Administration is responsible for the majority of municipally driven cultural activities and provides support to the independent cultural sector.
A challenge for the Culture Administration is to reach more people, and groups that we do not reach today. Everyone should feel welcome in our activities, which places high demands on employees' competence and engagement. We work actively with sustainability and strive for gender equality and diversity. We welcome applicants with different backgrounds and experiences.
What we offer
In our world, culture is important. We need spaces for culture. Places that give room for play, creativity, and dreams. Rooms where one can discover, develop, and express oneself. Rooms for imagination! In the Cultural School, children and young people between the ages of 6 and 22 have this space. Here they get the opportunity for their own creation in their free time in one of the Cultural School's many subjects within music, singing, theater, musical, dance, circus, art, and media. Through various events, large and small, students can perform in front of an audience. The teaching is given in own premises, with professional equipment, as well as in schools throughout Stockholm.
Your role
Theater education in groups for beginners to more advanced students, within the target group of children and young people with disabilities. Group size varies, and individual teaching also occurs.
Take responsibility for your student groups and work for good contact with participants and guardians. The work in the group can lead to a simpler presentation or performance.
In consultation with the manager, be responsible for scheduling and follow-up of the schedule, as well as some administration. Together with the manager, colleagues, and students, plan and actively participate in activities based on the Cultural School's goals and commitments, such as outward-facing activities, performances, and recordings. Participate actively in meetings and training. During recordings, you collaborate with the Cultural School's theater assistants.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for you who have:
- Theater pedagogical education or equivalent competence acquired in another way.
- Extensive, documented experience in drama and theater pedagogical work with children and young people with disabilities, for example Intellectual disability, Neurodevelopmental disorders (autism, ADHD, Tourette's, and speech disorders), and multiple disabilities.
- Are secure, creative, and flexible in the teaching situation and can adapt teaching, pace, and communication to different needs and conditions.
- Have pedagogical insight and good cooperation skills, as well as being self-reliant and proactive.
- Have deep knowledge in drama and theater, but also curiosity and a desire to work cross-artistically in collaboration with other educators. I.e., competence in areas such as music, singing, rhythm, movement, image, and storytelling.
- Good digital competence, especially regarding operational systems, programs, and apps related to the assignment, e.g., the Office package.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Knowledge of and experience in scenic production.
- Have a non-hierarchical working style and contribute to an inclusive working climate.
- Want to be an active part of the resource center's operations and development.
- See opportunities rather than limitations in the work with our students.
- Have the ability to create security, structure, and participation in a group.
- See each student's expression and communication as meaningful and artistically important.
Other
Afternoon and evening work. Weekend work may occur. Extract from the criminal record register must be presented before employment.
