Själevad School is now looking for a teacher in Home Economics and Consumer Studies to join our team. Själevad is beautifully located by the Moälven river, approximately 6 kilometers west of central Örnsköldsvik.

We are looking for you who want to be part of our team, where competence, quality, and good relationships are key factors in focusing on knowledge development.

For those new to the profession, Örnsköldsvik Municipality offers an induction program for new teachers. This means you will have a mentor during your first year – an experienced teacher with the same subject qualification who can guide and support you.

Responsibilities

You will teach Home Economics and Consumer Studies, as well as another subject based on your qualifications, for grades 6–9. You will have overall responsibility for the student group and handle the documentation and contacts this entails. Contact and cooperation with guardians is an important part of the job. The role involves planning, implementing, and following up on teaching together with a work team.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a teaching degree and subject qualification in Home Economics and Consumer Studies.

We seek someone who enjoys being challenged and thinking new thoughts, and who sees differences and diversity as a foundation for learning and development. You are a secure adult and a clear leader in the classroom. Being a role model and creating a good atmosphere in the student group and work team is second nature to you.

We would appreciate that you have experience leading group processes, the ability to create structure, and the ability to adapt teaching based on the needs of the group and individuals. You are receptive, take responsibility, are engaged, and creative.

We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
