We are looking for a North Sami teacher at the Sami School Authority

The Sami School Authority (Sameskolstyrelsen) is a government agency with its office in Jåhkåmåhkke (Jokkmokk). We operate in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna. The Sami school is an educational form equivalent to the compulsory school, offering teaching from pre-school class to year 6, based on Sami culture and language according to the curriculum. We also provide distance education in the Sami languages and support the development of teaching materials.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic teacher to strengthen our team. This is a full-time position (100%).

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in accordance with the school's governing documents and from a Sami perspective, both individually and in work teams.
• Actively participate in developing successful learning environments together with other staff at the school.
• Participate in other school-related work in collaboration with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Teacher education with a valid teaching license.
• Proficiency in North Sami, both spoken and written.
• Positive outlook on people and ability to build good relationships.
• Ability to prevent and resolve conflicts.
• Meticulous, flexible, and attuned to students' needs.
• Enjoy working with children and young people.
• Documented ability to work well in teams.

Terms of Employment

• Salary: Monthly salary (individual salary setting applies).
• Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: 6 months or longer.
