You will belong to Markverkstad Norr, a unit within the Army Staff (AST), with approximately 180 employees. We operate in Boden, Luleå, Arvidsjaur, Vidsel, Umeå, Östersund, and Sollefteå.

Main Responsibilities

As a mechanic, your main tasks will involve troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining light wheeled vehicles and their systems used by the Swedish Armed Forces, primarily tracked vehicles and passenger cars. The work includes both preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as modifications based on established specifications.

Markverkstaden also has the opportunity to offer entry-level positions to junior candidates.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• At least a two- or three-year upper secondary education in vehicle technology, vehicle focus, or other education/competence acquired through professional experience that the employer deems equivalent
• Previous relevant experience working as a vehicle mechanic
• Category B driver's license

Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who is quality-conscious and works well both independently and in a team. As a vehicle mechanic, you are structured, decisive, and make correct assessments and prioritizations. Furthermore, you are positive towards your work and appreciate order and tidiness.

BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of hydraulics
• C or CE driver's license
• Experience working with vehicle diagnostic systems and vehicle electronics
• AC certification

Other Information

Employment type: Permanent position starting with a 6-month probationary period. Employment level: Full-time, daytime hours – varying working times may apply.

Salary: Monthly salary with individual salary setting based on competence and experience.

Work location: Boden.

Start date: By agreement, ongoing selection process.

The work involves requirements for travel and duty, both domestic and international.

The position is a civilian post.

Work involving hardening plastics occurs at the workplace and requires health examinations.
