Do you want to help develop the future's information-driven operations in one of Sweden's largest government agencies? We are now looking for an engaged Unit Manager for one of our two Business Intelligence units within IT. Here, you will have the opportunity to combine leadership, operational development, and modern data and analytical capabilities in a socially vital agency.

Leadership, Business Intelligence, Data, and AI

The unit belongs to the Information area within the business area Information, Data, and AI and is responsible for development and maintenance within Business Intelligence. As Unit Manager, you will lead one of two units that together are responsible for the development and maintenance of data warehouses, data products, analytics platforms, and IT services for analysis, statistics, and operational follow-up.

The area also works with metadata and information description to ensure understanding, traceability, and accessibility of data for analysis and statistics production. The assignment involves close collaboration with the business operations, where needs are identified, concretized, and translated into requirements for data, solutions, and technical capabilities.

We work according to DevOps principles where development, maintenance, and operations collaborate closely with a focus on overall responsibility, quality, security, and continuous improvement. Within the area, we are also responsible for implementing and maintaining technical protective measures in accordance with information owners' requirements, as well as for knowledge dissemination and environmental scanning within our areas of responsibility. A key focus going forward is the continued modernization and development of the agency's analytical and information capabilities, where collaboration between business and IT is a central success factor.

The role entails responsibility for delivery, personnel, budget, and working environment. You lead qualified employees in areas such as project management, system development, software architecture, and data engineering, playing a key role in creating conditions for both delivery and long-term competence development. You work closely with other managers, architects, product owners, information owners, and business representatives, actively contributing to collaboration and development across organizational boundaries.

Through close leadership, you create the predictability, security, and sustainability necessary for employees to take responsibility and meet the need for change. You create understanding of context, direction, and the goals set by the department, and develop the plans your operations need. As Unit Manager, you support the Area Manager and are part of the area's leadership group, contributing your competence and engagement. You adapt and exercise your leadership in a way that creates conditions for employees to use their judgment and competence.

The position involves handling confidential information, which places high demands on proper handling. Therefore, it is important that you, who will work with us, have a high level of security awareness.

We are looking for you who:

  • have a university degree or experience and qualifications that can be assessed as equivalent
  • are a secure and clear leader with experience leading qualified IT or development operations
  • have a good ability to create collaboration between business and IT
  • have a genuine interest in leadership and employee development, as well as experience in creating engaged teams with high participation and a good collaborative climate
  • have experience within Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, and modern analytics platforms
  • have experience with Agile working methods and DevOps
  • are accustomed to driving change and development in large and complex organizations
  • have a strategic perspective while being able to translate goals into concrete implementation
  • are present in your leadership and actively work to develop both individuals and groups, create security, and build a work environment characterized by trust, responsibility, and job satisfaction
  • communicate clearly and build long-term relationships.

It is meritorious if you have experience of

  • public sector operations or other large organizations
  • data governance, metadata, or information architecture.

Other Information

One position, permanent, full-time, with start date as agreed. Probationary period may apply. In accordance with Försäkringskassan's security guidelines, background checks are conducted in this recruitment. Swedish citizenship is required for this position. Remote work opportunities exist if the work allows. In this recruitment, work psychological tests may be used as part of the selection process. Location: Sundsvall.
