Rösjöskolan is located in Edsberg, close to nature reserves and Lake Rösjön. Approximately 420 students attend the school, ranging from pre-school class to grade 6. We offer school and after-school care for students in primary school, adapted primary school, and preparatory classes. The school environment creates all prerequisites for movement, learning, and health, and our staff is driven by making a difference and creating conditions for every student to reach as far as possible in their knowledge development. The compensatory mission is significant, and the school actively works to create a socially and academically promoting environment.
This is a fixed-term position at 100% during the 2026/2027 school year.
Responsibilities
As an occupational therapist at Rösjöskolan, you play a central role in creating an accessible and supportive learning environment for our students. Your mission is to promote the student's activity, participation, and independence in the school day, and to contribute to ensuring that every student is given the best possible conditions for learning and development.
You work closely with special education teachers, teachers, after-school staff, and student health services to create a holistic view of the student. The role involves mapping needs, suggesting and implementing adjustments, and supporting staff in how the learning environment can be designed to meet various disabilities. You may also conduct short training sessions for work teams, for example, regarding ergonomics, transfer techniques, or how different disabilities affect the student's learning and participation.
The work is varied and requires both independence and close collaboration. You will become an important part of the school's student health work and actively contribute to developing structures and working methods that strengthen students' opportunities to succeed in school.
Qualifications
You are a confident and clear occupational therapist who works in a structured manner with a high degree of independence. You have a relationship-building approach and build good contact with students, guardians, and colleagues. Your specialist knowledge enables you to analyze needs, suggest relevant interventions, and implement them in practice together with the operations.
You thrive in a cross-professional context and have good collaboration skills. You are solution-oriented, flexible, and accustomed to adapting working methods to the student's prerequisites. You understand how different disabilities affect the student's daily life at school and always work with the student's participation and independence as the focus.
Requirements
- Licensed Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with children and young people with intellectual disabilities
Meritorious
- Experience with students with motor disabilities
- Experience and knowledge of TBA (Accessible, Proven, and Adapted methods)
- Experience with communication aids such as PECS, POD, and TAKK
- Good knowledge of autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NPF) in combination with intellectual disability (ID)
