About the role

As a nurse at the Surgical Clinic, you will encounter a broad spectrum of patients with various conditions and ages. We also work in close collaboration with the surgical outpatient clinic and the palliative care consultation team.

You will receive a thorough introduction and be mentored by experienced nurses. There is an opportunity for mentorship with an experienced nurse on the ward during your first year of employment. We also have development nurses—two experienced nurses who are present a few days a week to support and train staff in surgical nursing care.

We work in teams and strive for a more patient-centered approach at the clinic. We are a cheerful and positive team characterized by good collaboration. We value the work environment highly and work actively on this issue at both the ward and clinic levels.

The managers are Jessica, AC, and Anna, Assistant AC, and we look forward to receiving your application. It is important to us that you receive a good introduction when you join us, providing you with security. We want an open atmosphere on the ward where it is always okay to ask questions. A good work environment where we work in a structured manner and put the patient's best interests first is crucial. Good collaboration and treating everyone with respect are the guiding principles of our operations.

The clinic in Halmstad has two wards with different focuses:

Ward 72 has 12 beds where we primarily work with elective surgery in the areas of colorectal, breast, and vascular surgery. Here, we focus mainly on pre- and postoperative care, as well as palliative care for the mentioned diagnoses. As a nurse on Ward 72, you will gain a broad experience by working with elective care across different categories, while also handling acute situations. You will also have the opportunity to work with patients in the end-of-life phase.

From Monday to Thursday, we also have 6 outpatient beds used primarily for elective patients undergoing day surgery, such as breast, vascular, cholecystectomy, inguinal hernia, etc.

Ward 83 has 24 beds focused on emergency care. Common diagnoses on Ward 83 include ileus, cholecystitis, appendicitis, gastrointestinal bleeding, trauma, and sepsis. On Ward 83, we focus on the emergency flow with short stays and the best possible care for our patients.

Your profile

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse.

In the role of a nurse on the surgical ward, flexibility and the ability to adapt to the situation are required. You value good collaboration and contribute to it through flexibility and engagement. A professional and empathetic approach towards colleagues, patients, and relatives is second nature to you.

We are looking for someone who wants to work with clear goals and has a strong interest in development and improvement work.
