About the Operations

 

The Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Regiment (FMTIS) supports the Headquarters and the Armed Forces' locations in Stockholm regarding the operation and maintenance of command and deployment systems at all readiness levels, both nationally and internationally. About the Position

 

To strengthen our team and capability, we are now seeking an Operations Engineer for the Command Support Unit, Implementation Division Stockholm. As an Operations Engineer, you will be part of our user support section, consisting of skilled and experienced colleagues who will help you settle into the role in the best possible way. The work is varied and mainly consists of supporting users with the operation and maintenance of various IT systems.

Main Responsibilities

 

The tasks are performed both independently and in groups and include, among other things:

  • Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of clients, servers, and networks
  • Configuration of switches and routers
  • Planning of preventive and corrective maintenance work as well as commissioning of IT equipment
  • Troubleshooting, upgrading, and installation of clients and other end-user equipment
  • Collaborate and coordinate support with other operations with a focus on operational effect
  • The work is primarily performed at the Swedish Armed Forces' premises in Stockholm.

Qualifications

  • Upper secondary education with a focus on IT and data communication, or equivalent knowledge that can be assessed as equivalent
  • Current and relevant experience in installation and configuration of IT equipment
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • Category B driver's license
  • Swedish citizenship

Meritorious Qualifications

  • Current and relevant work experience as an IT technician or equivalent
  • Experience working in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd line support
  • Experience in security work in IT environments
  • Knowledge and experience working with signals-intelligence-related IT security products, such as firewalls and cryptographic systems
  • Knowledge and experience of the Swedish Armed Forces' IT infrastructure, both software and hardware
  • Knowledge and experience within operating systems for servers and clients, network technology
  • Experience working in a process-oriented manner (ITIL)

Other Information

 

The position is a civil permanent employment and begins with a 6-month probationary period for those not already employed within the Swedish Armed Forces. The position is a full-time position. The workplace is in Stockholm.
