About the Squadron

The Air Force Flight Squadron conducts strategic air transport with the mission to, among other things, transport the Head of State and the country's highest civilian and military leadership. Air operations are conducted year-round to all corners of the world with high demands on availability and safety.

The squadron is now entering an intensive and exciting development phase. In 2026, we will upgrade from the current air transport system TP102 to the state-of-the-art system TP106 - Global 6500.

At the same time, there is a clear direction for our operations to grow, so that in the long term, it will also serve as the platform for the Swedish Armed Forces' next generation of airborne command and control and surveillance capabilities with the S106 - Global Eye.

We are now looking for you who want to help build this organization from the ground up – a journey that broadens today's strategic air operations with both an operational and tactical role in air defense.

Main Responsibilities

The role of Expedition Officer involves leading the expedition service and supporting the squadron in expedition and archive services. This entails continuous document and case management, with the task of reporting on, handling, and making public records available, including those subject to confidentiality.

As an Expedition Officer, you will also supervise staff assistants at the squadron's expedition office.

Qualifications

  • Education in administration, registry, or equivalent as assessed by the employer.
  • Upper secondary school diploma with passing grades.
  • The work presupposes very good computer skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, both in Swedish and English.
  • Category B driver's license for manual transmission.
  • Swedish citizenship and approved security and background check.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is meticulous, structured, service-oriented, and has a good ability to collaborate and interact with other people. The tasks will be varied, and you must be able to take initiative and take responsibility for the completion of tasks yourself.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Merits

  • Professional experience as a registrar or equivalent experience as assessed by the employer.
  • Previous professional experience in the Swedish Armed Forces or other government agencies.
  • Knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' administrative support systems, e.g., PRIO/SAP, VIDAR, SHAREPOINT.
  • Experience in leading and distributing work in staff-like environments.

Employment type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces apply a 6-month probationary period for those not already employed by the agency.

The position entails requirements for physical and mental capacity, conducting business trips, participating in training and exercises within the wartime organization. Physical training is part of the job duties. Since both the position and job duties are linked to a wartime organization, you will also be assigned to wartime duties. This means, among other things, that you will receive training on what is expected of you during heightened readiness.

Skaraborg Wing is a versatile and unique air wing. Here you find combat aircraft as well as the Swedish Armed Forces' combined resource of transport and special aircraft. We conduct basic and position-specific training for conscript recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many operations. In Sweden, the operations are located in Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg. Abroad, we are responsible for Gripen support in Thailand and for the Swedish personnel at the international transport air cooperation Heavy Airlift Wing in Hungary.
