The Department of Culture and Leisure is responsible for the municipality's libraries, cultural school, sports halls and grounds, open child and youth activities, grants to associations and study associations, cultural activities, Vårby Library with Barnkonsten, Fullersta Farm, art purchases, and the distribution of scholarships and prizes in sports and culture.

Do you want to make a real difference for young people? In Flemingsberg, we are now looking for an engaged and creative youth librarian who wants to inspire reading pleasure, curiosity, and a desire to explore.

Your role with us

With us, you are a key person in the development of the library's operations. You meet visitors at the information desk with warmth, knowledge, and engagement – and guide them to new reading experiences.

At the same time, you create meaningful encounters through activities and collaborations, where you:

• meet young people, create involvement, and build relationships
• collaborate with schools, youth clubs, associations, and other important actors
• plan and conduct book circles, book talks, and creative activities for and with young people in their free time

With your energy and imagination, you strengthen young people's language, self-confidence, and desire to read. You also help develop the library's content and environment:

• responsible for purchasing, weeding, and developing youth media
• create an inspiring and current library environment
• handle deposits and contribute to reaching out in the local area
• through environmental scanning, you pick up trends and what is current right now

We are looking for you who

• have a degree in library and information science or equivalent education
• are confident in digital environments (e.g., Office and library systems like Quria)
• express yourself well in Swedish in speech and writing
• have worked with young people previously

Meritorious:

• experience working in Quria
• experience working at a public library
• multilingualism in addition to Swedish and English

As a person, you are

• creative, curious, and proactive
• confident in meetings with groups and people
• a person who wants to contribute to the library's role in society
