As an employee in the Swedish Armed Forces' IT Operations Department, you will be part of an important societal mission with many exciting areas of operation and the opportunity to make a real difference. The IT Operations Department, together with neighboring departments, is responsible for the operation of the Swedish Armed Forces' central IT systems. We work in a process-oriented manner according to ITIL and with the support of agile methods.

Main Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer, you play a key role where you, together with your colleagues, are responsible for the operation of the Swedish Armed Forces' IT systems. Your tasks primarily include performing installations, troubleshooting, optimization, and configuration of servers, as well as user support.

You will be involved in planning and implementation during new releases or major changes. The role also includes reviewing technical documentation and reporting on and documenting ongoing and completed tasks.

Qualifications

  • University education in IT/Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of server environments and client management.
  • Professional experience in installing, troubleshooting, and operating Windows/Linux servers.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Valid B-class driver's license for manual transmission vehicles.
  • Swedish citizenship.
  • Fluent Swedish and good proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

Meritorious Qualifications

  • Professional experience in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting server environments and clients in large networks.
  • Experience working with agile principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with the Swedish Armed Forces' operations.
  • Certificate management.
  • Knowledge of signal protection equipment, alarm handling, and log analysis.

Other Information

  • Employment Type: Permanent. The Swedish Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not already employed within the agency.
