Specialist Physician in Endocrinology and Diabetology – Remote Work

The internal medicine department is a broad operation with approximately 450 employees, covering many diagnoses, conditions, and treatments. Internal Medicine in Gävle consists of six parts: the Medical Emergency Department (MAVA), stroke department/clinic, lung department/clinic, kidney/hematology department as well as clinic, dialysis and kidney clinic, and endocrine, gastroenterology, and internal medicine clinics.

At the endocrine clinic, you will meet four dedicated specialist colleagues, resident doctors, and nursing staff. As the activity expands with increased patient flow and an aging population, we now wish to further expand the medical team with an endocrinologist.

Job Responsibilities

As a specialist physician, you will work largely independently remotely within Sweden. Collaboration with other professions is also a central part of the role. Meetings in referral teams and dialogues during rounds, where more complex cases are discussed, also take place. Within the department, we value education highly and have a large group of very skilled resident doctors.

As a specialist physician with us, you will among other things:

• Perform routine clinic work via remote contacts and telephone.
• Work in the medical record system Cosmic.
• Supervise junior colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a newly qualified or experienced specialist in endocrinology and diabetology and who want to work remotely in a dynamic specialty at a medium-sized county hospital, with close collaboration with the university clinic in Uppsala. You are result-oriented and driven to perform at a high level. You are confident, self-reliant, and responsible in your professional role, and you are stimulated by developing the activity.

Since the work involves close collaboration with other professions as well as a supervisory and educational role towards younger colleagues, it is important that you have good collaboration skills, a good attitude, and can communicate and listen in a constructive manner.

Attached to the hospital is CFUG (Center for Research and Development Gävleborg), with an academic link to Uppsala University. CFUG distributes research time and research grants to permanent employees in the region, both doctoral students and PhD-holding employees.

In the role of specialist physician, you must hold:

• Medical license.
• Specialist competence in endocrinology and diabetology.

Specialist training in internal medicine is an advantage.
