Responsibilities

You will work on developing GIS and workflows together with various departments within the municipality. Your main tasks will include driving activities and projects within GIS, developing technology to refine and make geographic information accessible, streamlining and developing processes within GIS, as well as providing support and training in the GIS and geodata field and maintaining databases.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university education focused on GIS or other education that the employer deems equivalent. We also see that you have a strong commitment and ability to drive projects, general high IT maturity, and knowledge and experience in handling and structuring geographic data. You enjoy working with new technology, contribute creative ideas, are solution-oriented, and are comfortable finding solutions via the internet or other channels.

It is also important that you can express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You must have the ability to explain complex relationships pedagogically and provide support and training within the GIS area.

You will belong to the Map and Geodata group and be part of the GIS team, whose mission is to ensure an accessible and stable GIS platform. The team is responsible for databases, servers, applications, integrations, and scripts.

You have knowledge and experience in:

• Working with ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or equivalent software.
• Database management and integrations against internal and external services/business systems.
• Complex workflows and operations.
• System management experience.
• FME Desktop.
• Knowledge of digital map handling and database technology, and preferably experience from working with GIS within municipal operations or government agencies.

It is meritorious if you have experience with myCarta, VA-Banken, or Topocad. It is also valuable if you have experience with programming languages such as Python or R. Interest or experience in drone flight and 3D is a plus.
