High Voltage Safety Manager – SKK AB

Do you want to lead and ensure electrical safety in projects involving high voltage and power grids? On behalf of SKK AB, NXT Challenge AB is now recruiting a High Voltage Safety Manager for projects within vital power grid infrastructure.

Here you will have a responsible role where you work close to the operations in the field, ensuring that work is carried out safely, systematically, and in accordance with current regulations. You will become part of a knowledgeable and non-hierarchical team in a company experiencing strong growth.

About Skogs- & Kraftkonsulterna i Norr AB

SKK AB is a growing company based in Boden, working within forestry, land, infrastructure, railways, power grids, and condition assessment. The company drives projects from Stockholm and northwards, with significant operations in Norrbotten and Västerbotten.

With several ongoing and upcoming projects, SKK AB continues its expansion and is now seeking more employees for the team.

About the Role

As a High Voltage Safety Manager, you are responsible for electrical safety during the execution of projects within high voltage and power grids. The role involves leading safety work in the field and ensuring that work is performed according to current regulations, procedures, and safety requirements.

You work closely with project management, work crews, clients, and other actors in the projects and play a key role in creating a safe and secure working environment throughout the execution. The role requires you to be present in the field during ongoing work and to make decisions related to electrical safety directly on-site.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

  • Responsibility for electrical safety during project execution
  • Presence in the field during ongoing work
  • Conduct safety briefings with work crews and project management
  • Perform risk assessments and ensure work follows current regulations and procedures
  • Handle documentation, deviations, and incidents
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other staff
  • Make on-site decisions related to electrical safety

The projects include, among other things:

  • High voltage and power grids
  • Aerial lines and underground cables
  • Substation work and infrastructure projects

Projects may be located from Central Sweden up to Norrbotten, involving travel and work away from home.

We are looking for you who

To succeed in the role, you need experience working with high voltage and feel confident leading safety work in the field. You have a good understanding of regulations and safety procedures, as well as experience working systematically with risk assessments and documentation in project environments with high safety requirements.

You are a person who communicates clearly, collaborates well with others, and has the ability to build trust in projects where safety is always the highest priority. The role requires you to be self-reliant, structured, decisive, and confident in taking responsibility during ongoing work.

We would appreciate if you have previous experience in a role as a Safety Manager or similar work within high voltage and power grid projects. You are confident working independently and have built experience from project environments where safety and responsibility are central parts of the work.

Relevant practical experience from working as a Safety Manager within power grids/high voltage is meritorious and weighs heavier than exact formal education.

Requirements

  • Experience working in high voltage/electrical or power grid environments
  • Experience leading safety work in the field
  • Good knowledge of regulations and safety procedures within high voltage and power grids
  • Experience with risk assessments and documentation within electricity
  • ESA Certified Specialist (Fackkunnig)
  • Category B driver's license
  • Relevant education or equivalent experience
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
  • Ability to work systematically and independently in a project environment

Meritorious Qualifications

  • BAS-U certification
  • Experience from power grid projects or contracting
  • Experience working with power and energy companies
  • Previous work for larger grid owners or energy companies
  • Experience with substation work, aerial lines, or underground cables
  • Experience with occupational health and safety responsibility in project environments
  • Experience from other work areas such as land, infrastructure, railways, or contracting

About the Job

  • Full-time
  • Working hours and periods vary depending on the project
  • In some projects, longer working days or weeks occur, followed by consecutive leave according to the project's working time schedule
  • Travel and overnight stays away from home occur regularly
  • Housing is arranged by the company when working away from home
  • You start from home, which becomes the base for the work week
