About the Position

The municipality has a well-functioning central Child and Student Health Service with dedicated employees who have extensive experience and broad competence. The main focus is on health-promoting and preventive work. The combined student health work, both centrally and locally in the schools, is an important factor for the students' security, development, and goal achievement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a School Counselor within Hofors Municipality, you are employed by the central Child and Student Health Service and work towards one or more schools in the municipality.

You work according to current laws and steering documents. You should be able to work both independently and in a group and have a desire to contribute to the further development of the municipality's student health service. Good ability to contribute to collaboration and close cooperation with different actors and competencies within the municipality and region is a prerequisite for successful work.

The majority of the work is done out at the schools, where you are part of the local student health team. The School Counselor actively participates in the health-promoting and preventive work at the school. Other examples of tasks include participating in network work around students and school social teams, having conversations with students individually or in groups, and providing consultation to school staff and principals.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Social worker (socionom), alternatively behavioral scientist, or other similar education suitable for the tasks.
• You should have previous experience of working with children and young people. It is an advantage if you have previous experience of working as a school counselor and of cooperation with social services.
• You have knowledge of the school's organization and steering documents, knowledge and experience of working with students, especially students in need of special support, and preferably good knowledge of multilingualism.
