Do you want to ensure that our elderly in Bromma receive good and nutritious meals? Do you want to work daytime hours?
We are now looking for an experienced chef for our kitchen at Mälarbacken Care and Support Residence. Our chefs prepare approximately 950 portions daily, mostly traditional Swedish home-style cooking, with a focus on sustainable meals. The food is delivered to our residences at Mälarbacken, Traneberg, and Brommagården, as well as to home care services, psychiatry, and day care. We also ensure that Mary's Café receives simpler meals and support them with lunch orders for various meetings.

Your role
We are looking for you, an experienced chef who can cook good food, primarily traditional Swedish home-style cooking, for our elderly. Our chefs prepare food according to recipes, producing approximately 300 portions per dish.
The food is delivered in canteens to the various departments or packed chilled for home care meal boxes. For those with specific needs, we prepare special diets.
As a chef, you help develop the menu. When planning menus, we take into account the guests' wishes. The goal is to provide all elderly people with a good dining experience. We also have some internal ordering operations and deliver sandwich cakes, lunches, and other small treats according to customer requests.
Your skills and experience
You have:
- A 3-year upper secondary education as a chef or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience working in large-scale kitchens aimed at elderly care.
You have good communication skills in Swedish, the ability to work independently and in a team, are responsible, structured, and have good collaboration skills. You thrive working at a high pace and have a professional approach to your work.

Working hours are scheduled for daytime and weekends, currently from 07:30 – latest 16:30.
A practical work test will be applied for applicants called for an interview.
