ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently looking for a personal assistant for our client at approximately 80-90% hours. The client lives just north of Örnsköldsvik. This position is a parental leave substitute with a start date no later than June, lasting approximately 1-1.5 years. Working hours are scheduled during the day and night (night shifts with waiting periods).

As an assistant in this role, you will help the client with all daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, light outdoor chores, personal hygiene, and communication, among other things. You will accompany the client and actively participate in various activities, such as daily training and rehabilitation, as our client is very active in his daily life.

You will primarily work in the home environment and accompany the client on activities he wishes to do. The client enjoys fishing and spending time in nature. It is a big plus if you share these interests with him.

Start date is by agreement, and we would prefer that you can begin training immediately.

ABOUT THE CLIENT

The client is a man in his 60s who has previously had a stroke and has aphasia. The man uses a wheelchair, a walking stick, and communication aids, among other things.

The duties are as follows:

• Help with daily routines such as household chores
• Assist with personal hygiene and dressing/undressing
• Motivate and help the client practice speech
• Gym training and water aerobics

Furthermore, the client has a great interest in cars, enjoys training and being outdoors, and loves fishing if the opportunity arises. During the day, the client often performs some form of activity, such as water aerobics or gym. Therefore, as a personal assistant, you need to be open to accompanying and participating in water aerobics with the client.

ARE YOU THE ONE WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for you who are passionate about working with people and can analyze the needs of other individuals. Furthermore, you should be receptive, proactive, solution-focused, engaged, and able to work independently. You are creative and come up with suggestions for outings that you and the client can do in everyday life. Education/experience within care and elderly care or aphasia is meritorious but not a requirement for applying for the position.

The work is located in the home, approximately 2.5 miles north of the city center of Örnsköldsvik, so a driver's license and access to a car are required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Driver's license and access to a car
• Ability to tolerate chlorine/Capable of swimming

MERITORIOUS:

• Care experience or equivalent
• Care education or equivalent

Employment level: Substitute position of approx. 80-90% for 1-1.5 years

Salary: We apply individual salary setting. Other benefits in accordance with collective agreements.

From March 1, 2026, new regulations apply meaning that the register check will include both extracts from the criminal record and extracts from the suspicion register. The extract is ordered via the Police Authority's e-service. Note that processing times may vary, so the order should be placed well in advance.
